Why BLOG this Book?
I would like to thank Rudolph Schild for outlining the reasons for rejecting a manuscript that I sent to him because it has made me think about the question of circulating original work. He suggested a Blog and I would like to expand.
Academia and the academic journals are built on defined peer reviewed steps that are published and quoted. They are intolerant of work that does not fit that standard. I thoroughly agree with this, but the problem is that I am using a general mathematics instead of the usual mathematics.
General mathematics, or more precisely for humanity, the Mathematics of the Mind is around us, but we don’t recognize it, but we ‘feel’ it. A few examples will suffice. Occams’ razor, which says that the simplest solution is usually the best, has been around for hundreds of years. It is imprecise and yet usable, logical but not (formally) logical, should be used, but can’t be relied upon. It is actually one solution in the Mathematics of the Mind.
Magic is something that everyone knows about and agrees does not exist, but it does exist and is a reflection of general mathematics because mathematics is to measurement, as concepts are to general mathematics and while mathematics is a special case of general mathematics, both should be used, firstly for measurement and secondly for understanding. Living in a world that is short on understanding encourages the concept of magic and as general mathematics is the mathematics of concepts, it contains magic until it is understood.
Another well known example is the thinking that the experimenter influences quantum mechanical experiments. This is true because ALL measurements are made through the mind, because of relativity. I’ll leave it there because it gets weirder and you won’t believe it, just read the examples.
Academia and the academic journals are ‘splitters’ and divide the world into specialties, whereas general mathematics is about concepts and joining specialties by overarching concepts (‘lumping’). The two concepts are antagonistic! There is no room for overarching concepts (except as a team of specialists) in Science because specialists, by definition are specialists!
Academia has thousands of journals, but the place for this new type of science is for the generalist or perhaps, naturalist, and the Blog is ideal. This concept fits neatly into a concept of general mathematics, because science is built on (exact) measurement with suppositions peer reviewed and published in accessible journals (set in ‘stone’).
The Mathematics of the Mind is powerful, but imprecise, suited to the social sciences and solutions contain aspects of ‘humanity’, suited to publication online so changes can be made and there is thus imprecision in referencing. Imprecision is a strength not a weakness because it allows updating on the Blog, and also in concepts, as seen later.
An example is in chapter 1, where the Holy Spirit is identified after 2000 years because general mathematics was the logic that was used before mathematics was invented. Secondly, fundamental physics gets a ‘shake-up’ when our existence and reality are investigated.
The time of the ‘amateur’ or ‘non-specialist’ has returned, and here is our chance to contribute to a ‘Wikipedia’ of original thought. The Mathematics of the Mind is for the ‘generalist’, not the specialist, in the same way that mathematics is for measurement and the specialist.
This book is about anti ageing and the results suggests that the brain should get better and better as we age! Most of the book has been written and I will start to put some up as soon as possible. The second post will be the title page and list of contents. This is to show the scope, and also the order in which the chapters were written.
The third post will be the Disclaimer, Forward and Introduction. The Disclaimer warns that your thinking and physical brain will change with reading the book and links back to the historical order of writing. Perhaps you may need the path that I took in evolving the mathematics, perhaps not. I can’t tell because time and knowledge have changed my mind/brain. This shows how thinking is changed, and that is creativity, sense 9, which is also shown to be consciousness.
Subsequent posts will be chapters that show derivations and examples that try to show examples relevant to modern life and to condition the mind to new ways of thinking. Comments will be welcomed and acknowledged and there is a real chance to change the world. Read on!
